How to Write Essays about Ancient Civilization

How to Write Essays about Ancient Civilization To make your essay about ancient civilization effective you need to construct it in appropriate way according to the academic rules and bring arguments supported by evidence. Below we present the most important steps for writing a successful essay on ancient civilization. First of all, you need to choose a topic that correlates with the general theme of the essay. While choosing a topic you need to take into your account abundance of the current research, availability of the sources and your interest in the subject. It is very important to choose the subject that is interesting for you and that you understand well. The complex subject that you are not interested in will not bring you high grades, because the essay won’t be deep and effective enough. It is of high importance to organize the structure of your essay properly. Compose the outline and follow it during writing. Be sure to devote a large part of your work to describing and interpreting your methods and findings. This way your readers will understand not only the subject of your work, but also your specific approach to answering the goals set for it. If you will concentrate your primary research on the chosen ancient civilization, it will increase the value of your work. Analyze the sources and compare the attitudes of the previous researchers. This will help you understand the topic better and to write the essay in more effective way. During the process of writing strictly follow the outline of the work. If you will focus on the subject and stick to the topic, it will be easier to write the essay in argumentative or analytical style. In this case, you will get better marks demonstrating both knowledge of ancient history and abilities to concentrate on the subject and to make your contribution into the given scientific discipline.

Augustine Uses The Terminology Of `` Relations `` And Work...

Augustine uses the terminology of â€Å"relations† to work through the Trinitarian thinking of one substance but three persons. It should be noted that persons is used because of a lack of better terminology. Augustine shows the interworking’s of these three persons in the sphere of relations. Relations such as Father and Son. This relation however does not speak of an inferiority of the Son to the Father but rather it only speaks to the relationship between the two and it helps distinguish the difference but it also holds the unity of the two as well. Then there is the spirit which is referred to as a gift that moves between the Father and the Son. Augustine goes on to refer to the spirit as love. There is also an emphasis on the fact that†¦show more content†¦His reasoning is that perfect love is not just love that one has within oneself nor being the essence of love. The perfect love is having love but also lavishing that love upon another. This brings ab out the duplicity of God because according to the perfection of love God has to lavish it upon something other than Himself but He still lavishes it on Himself, confusing I know. This is where the Triune God comes into the picture. The Triune is the perfect circle of God because it lets God be the perfect disposition of love in that He is love but He also lavishes it upon something â€Å"else.† With this as the basis of his thinking Edwards goes on to describe the Triune God through Augustine’s relations perspective with a little twist. The Father has to lavish His love for it to be perfect and He does this on the Son. So this is easy enough to grasp but then how is love lavished back to the Father? This is where the Spirit comes in. The Spirit is the Love that the Son lavishes back to the Father. So by the end of it there is a complete and perfect picture of love, where love is given and love is also received. When trying to flesh this out I couldn’t distingui sh the difference between Augustine and Edwards until I wrote it out for myself above. The difference is that Augustine was using the relations theory to back up the oneness of God but Edwards focused on the relations theory to strengthen the three in that oneness. There is also a feeling ofShow MoreRelatedThe Doctrine Of The Trinity9485 Words   |  38 Pagesour understanding of Christology. This is the mystery of the Trinity – how is the Godhead fully three persons, and yet one nature? Theophilus was the first to name the ‘triad’ nature of God in his letter To Autolycus in 170 A.D. Tertullian was the first to offer terminology to describe this mystery in Against Praxeas claiming â€Å"the Trinity† involved three ‘persons’ of one substance. This theology emerged from the Biblical witness, even though scripture offers no doctrine of the Trinity itself. Even

Upcoming Contribution And Leasing Standards †Myassignmenthelp.Com

Question: Discuss About The Upcoming Contribution And Leasing Standards? Answer: Introduction Lease is a special contract or agreement in which the lessees has to pay the lessor for the use of his/her assets for a specific period of time. Thus, it can be seen that leases are an important aspect in accounting. In lease agreements, the assets have to be tangible in nature. The Australian Accounting Standard Board (AASB) provides some specific guidelines regarding the recognition and measurement of leases in the business organizations and the companies need to comply with these regulations. The main aim of this report is to analyse and evaluate the various aspects regarding lease agreements in the companies. AASB Lease Recognition Criteria There are two types of leases; they are Financial Lease and Operating Lease. AASB has different recognition criteria for both the leases. They are discussed in the following section: Financial Leases: At the date of the commencement of the financial year, the lessor needs to use the implicit rate of interest in the leases for the measurement of net investments. In case, it is not possible for the lessor to determine the implicit rate of interest, it is required for the lessor to use discounted rate for the heading of sublease (gov.au 2017). At the time of measuring the total amount invested in the financial leases of the company, the lessor needs to include initial direct costs other than the manufacturing costs. In addition, the lessor needs to reduce the recognition of the amount of income. The implicit rate of interest in financial leases includes the initial costs of the new lease investments. The lessor needs to recognise the total amount of investments in financial leases based on the pattern reflecting a constant periodical rate of return of the net investments of the lessor (gov.au 2017). Operating leases The lessor needs to recognize the payments from operating leases, as income and it needs to be done based on either straight line or another systematic basis (gov.au 2017). At the time of the recognition of operating leases, the lessor needs to recognize various costs that include depreciation at the time of earning from leases. The lessor needs to add the initial direct costs of the leases at the time of leases recognition (gov.au 2017). The lessor needs to present the details about all the operating leases in the financial statements at the end of the financial years. Difference between Operating and Financial Leases Operating Lease Financial Lease The risks ands and rewards of asset ownership remain with the lessor (Brealey et al. 2012). The risk and rewards related to the ownership transfer to the lessee. Operating lease needs to be treated as rents and there is no need to show it in the balance sheet. Financial leases need to be treated like loans and thus, it appears in the balance sheet. There is not any purchase option of the asset in the lease period. Financial leases have the purchase option in the lease period. No running costs of the assets need to be borne(Grinblatt and Titman 2016). Running costs need to be borne and it is higher. The lessor cannot claim any amount for depreciation. The lessor can claim the amount interests as well as depreciation. The lessee has to pay only the monthly lease payments. The lessee has to pay tax, maintained and insurance expenses (Vernimmen et al. 2014). Example As per the 2017 annual report of CSL Limited, on 30 June 2017, it can be seen that the company has reported $3.1 million and $2.5 million in 2017 and 2016 respectively as current lease liabilities; and $22.3 million each for 2016 and 2017 as non-current liabilities. As per the earlier discussion, leases under current liabilities are operating leases; and leased under non-current liabilities are considered as financial leases. Thus, from the above discussion, it can be seen that CSL Limited reported both financial as well as operating leases in 2017 (csl.com.au 2017). Implications The new AASB 16 standards help the business organizations in the proper reporting of various financial aspects like leases of assets, liabilities, debts, assets, debt agreements, profits and expenses (kpmg.com 2017). Previously, the accountants of the companies had to face many difficulties in the recognition of leases, expenses, profits and others. However, with the help of new AASB 16 standards, the accountants have become able to maintain proper disclosure of financial aspects. In case of CSL Limited, it can be seen that the company has been able to segregate the amount of operating lease and financial lease in the most appropriate manner. Apart from the leases, in case of the recognition of expenses and debts, the company has adopted the strategy of fair value in which the market value of the assets and loans has been taken into consideration (csl.com.au 2017). Thus, from the above discussion, it can be seen that the new AASB 16 framework has overall effective effect on the finan cial reports of CSL Limited. Conclusion From the above discussion, it can be seen that there are two kinds of leases; they are Financial Lease and Operating Lease. For both these two types of leases, AASB 16has different recognition criteria. In addition, the above discussion shows that in financial lease, ownership does not transfer. However, in operating lease, there is not any transfer of ownership. From the financial report of CSL Limited 2017, it can be seen that the company has shown their operating as well as financial leases on a separate basis and this new AASB 16 standard has overall good implication on the companys financial statements. Bureucracy and Legal-Rational essays

Bureucracy and Legal-Rational essays BUREAUCRACY AND LEGAL-RATIONAL AUTHORITY IN WEBERS WORK According to Weber, bureaucracy is a product of the legal-rational form of authority which is itself a product of the process of rationalisation which defines modern societies. Max Weber was a sociologist of the late nineteenth and early twentieth centuries who was concerned with understanding social actions and the effects they had on modern, Western civilisation. He identified a relatively new social process of rational action which is characteristic of modern society in all its institutions. One of the social consequences of rationalisation lies within the sphere of authority, and Weber identified a new form of authority called legal-rational authority. This type of authority called for new ways of organising systems, that is, new organisational bodies which would be compatible with rationalist principles. Weber called these modern organisational bodies bureaucracies. Weber saw rationalism as the hallmark of modern society (Cuff, Sharrock s behaviours and peoples actions, with actions being those which carry attached meanings, and behaviours those which dont. Four types of meaningful action were theorised by Weber- traditional, emotional/affectual, value-rational and instrumentally rational (Haralambos, Holborn, Smith & Davis 1997). The first three types of action were based on traditional customs, emotional ties or personal or social values. Instrumental-rational action, argued Weber, was unique in that the actors took into account the means, ends and the long-term consequences of their actions (Haralambos et al 1997). According to Weber, modern civilisation, particularly in the West, was driven by a widespread tendency towards instrumentally rational action, a process of rationalisation (Haralmbos et al 1997). This was apparent in the growing emphasis on science, medicine, architechture, t...

Condense position papers Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 500 words

Condense position papers - Essay Example And even if he chooses the former, who are we to blame or persecute him Whatever he does to himself is for his own good. In the same way that an ordinary heterosexual person aims for the betterment of himself and of the others as well, so do the homosexual. I believe that is not for us to judge a person, a homosexual at that, based on sexual preferences. I firmly believe that if ever the homosexuals are given the chance to choose whom to love or admire, they would choose the normal choice - a male for a female and vice versa. They would never want to be put in such humiliating situations that could earn the ire of their parents, family, friends, and even the government. Indeed, not a single crime may be imputed directly to the homosexual preference of an offender. "Coming out can sometimes lead to a life crisis, which can elevate to suicidal thoughts or even committing suicide."1 So, let us leave them alone, or we might end up becoming worse than the persons whom we thought are secon d-class individuals. As previously stated in the essay, "acceptance is the key and fear is the originator of all things 'immoral.'" In relation to the matter of choices, I also agree with the idea of abortion.

Depending on what a European company decides to outsource to India, Essay

Depending on what a European company decides to outsource to India, the result may be very beneficial in several aspects even if it includes some disadvantages - Essay Example Measures that are set for companies that outsource to India and Indian venders ensure confidential data is stored on the servers of the outsourcing companies and Indian vendors have strongly controlled access. Although, the outsourcing may have adverse outcomes to the European company that decide to outsource to India, it may as well yield beneficial outcomes to this company. The economic crisis has made many European companies to decide the focus on India as an outsourcing objective for their information technology requirements (Schniederjans, 2005). Thus, these companies should ensure that the outsourcing contracts must be carefully drawn to protect their intellectual property rights. The European company outsourcing to India should not allow the team in India to know much about their business, but Indian should only understand the details of equity trading and settlement. However, the outsourcing will cause unemployment due to the introduction of information technology, but it is significant for European companies to outsource in India because they will have a competitive advantage in the global market. The competition will ensure that the profits decline in the long-run, and profits accrue to employees via more job creation, and to clients via cheaper prices. For instance, the research indicates that most European companies would gain new jobs in the long-run due to offshore information technology outsourcing to India (Schniederjans, 2005). Higher wages in India are one of the significant drivers of global outsourcing, and would cause the wage differential to narrow in the European companies. Meanwhile, the skill differentials and higher productivity as a result of outsourcing to India will tend to preserve Europe companies wage levels, with differentials decreasing gradually due to increase in the low end wages. The outsourcing is growing significantly in Europe due to labor

Blue Ocean Strategy Strategy Simulation Analysis

Blue Ocean Strategy Strategy Simulation Analysis Background The below chart shows the characteristics of Resheps blue ocean product Blue box, highlighted in Yellow. The product was considerably different from the existing products in the market, but due to concerns with the team budget the changes were kept austere to save on the project costs. Only one path (3) was targeted. The price of the product was fixed much higher than the Red box as the product blue box was very superior to it in a number of ways, some of the features that the blue box continued from the red round products were very similar to Shiny station and Purple player levels and hence the price was felt justifiable. Year 2012 The above charts clearly show that the strategy of our targeting was working given that the preference that we received in the 36+ age group was the highest; this was the group that was primarily targeted by path 3 that we had chosen while launching the product in the market. The concern, based on the feedback received; however were the following: The Product could have received support from a wider majority had we chosen to add a few more features to the product. The price of the product might be too high even for the features that had been provided. Some of the features were below or above the expectations of the market and hence needed adjustment in their levels. Based on this feedback we decided to change the product specifications in the manner shown below High Average The feature controller sophistication was reduced Audio sophistication was increased Rechargeable batteries was reduced Ability to control gaming habits was increased And Exer-gaming was introduced The features were reduced or removed to keep the overall cost of production in control. The greatest challenge that the blue ocean strategy simulation offered was that the simulation did not provide any intelligence as to what exact level the consumer wanted for a particular feature; it had to be derived from the analysis of the visual exploration brief. Result 2012 The analysis of our team in the second round was correct but we again found certain discrepancies, such as: The pricing was still found to be higher than expected for the blue box the features which were to be reduced were not found to be reduced to the appropriate levels Also the production plan was found to be lower than the demand Year 2013 Keeping these in mind we considered our product to be largely successful, so for expanding the market we tried a strategy which was a little different from the one recommended by the feedback messages Instead of just decreasing prices we decided to increase some features and reduce the prices only a little bit. This was done to get the maximum possible margin from the market by getting more consumers to buy. The prices were not reduced much but due to concerns regarding the EBIT The production level was increased to 1000 units expecting a increase in sales due to enhancement in product features Result 2013 The product features were accepted by the market but the sales slacked, this may have been due to the following: The market did not need the feature that we added to the product New products were introduced by the competitors Chart below shows the comparative analysis of the competitors and our blue ocean strategy (Next page). Through product features and consumer preferences. Conclusion Clearly from the product specifications we can conclude that the Blue box was the most superior product but the consumer showed a very high preference for the product blue pack, which due to lower prices of the product. This was also the major feedback. Based on this on the next round more features were added to attract more consumer and remaining different from the competitor even when as blue pack further reduced prices (as our company was facing profitability problems ), we could not lower the prices as we wanted to keep the losses at a minimum. Learning from Blue ocean strategy simulation To attract Non-customers it is most important to give them a price discount The price discount will not be successful, unless the product is radically different from the category, as non-customers are those who have not been satisfied by the category as a whole To reduce prices it is important to eliminate all the irrelevant features. To reduce prices it is important to reduce all the unimportant features. Implementation of blue ocean strategy in Mobile advertising industry The mobile advertising industry is still very nascent in India, but already there are challenges regarding the bombardment of user with advertising messages. The biggest challenge that the advertisers face is that an average mobile user is receiving so many messages every day that it is difficult to stand out. Features currently Available The services that a mobile advertising agency in India provides are the following: SMS Blast to user database collected on the bases of profession and education SMS blast to opt-in user data base MMS blast Banner ads on mobile Wapsite Click to call advertisements Bluetooth based advertising The biggest share of these is taken only by the SMS blasts collected in the bases of education and occupation databases. A blue ocean initiative in such a scenario would be: Description of Introduced feature Location based kiosks Bluetooth based advertising has still not been adopted in India as single brands are very cautious of the costs involved in the functions, but a viable model can be for a mobile agency to set up kiosks on location such as malls with large footfalls. The booth will have a physical presence to attract the people to it Once the mobile user comes close to the kiosk they can be requested to switch on the Bluetooth to receive attractive discounts and applications This model can then be sold to the advertisers as a way to start a conversation with their customer The process The advantages of this model would be: The Individual retailer which currently does not use Mobile as a medium for marketing will start doing so, thus creating the blue ocean. The ads would be the most recent conversation with the consumer The cost would be low as the advertiser will only pay for the number of applications/discounts disbursed The clutter/competition will be irrelevant as the consumer will opt in to receive these messages. The kiosk can also be used as a Out of home media Assignment 2 Blue ocean strategy for Sports academy The sports academies that exist today demand extraordinary commitment from their students. At a very young age the students are required to make a high level of commitment towards sports. The concept i am proposing involves the setting up of an academy which has the all the facilities that any academy of international standards provide to its students plus the aides the child in his education also. This blue ocean will be somewhere between the operations of a typical sports academy and a typical K-12 educational establishment. A similar example would be the Cirque du soleil quoted in the Blue ocean strategy text book. The Cirque du soleil created a blue ocean by incorporating the features of a theatre performance in its circus performance. The K-12 education sector has to seen tremendous growth in the past decade with the maturity coming in the established players in the market such as Educomp and entrance of traditional Educational establishment such as Manipal and DPS. The K-12 education model comprises of all establishments that have a uniform model across multiple branches and necessarily conduct classes starting from kindergarten to 12th standard. The establishments operating currently in the K-12 education sector right now are offering the following characteristics in their offerings Standardised tuitions, based on well defined curriculum Digitised classrooms Transport from and to homes Science and mathematics labs Canteen or other food service Library Sports infrastructure Facilities for hobby development Regular feedback sessions with the parents Mentor mentee program Personality development program Communication skills development programs Career counselling Preparation for competitive exams A sports academy provides the following facilities to its students Specialised infrastructure for various sports Professional coaching for all the relevant sports Mentor mentee program Guidance on career in sports Platform and certification to start competing in events Medical facilities Residential campuses Fitness training This establishment can be called a talent development academy. This is based on the fact the gradually even in India the focus of parents; who are the decision maker in case of K-12 education is shifting towards over all development of the child rather than just getting the educational degree, but they often end up not taking up sports as a career due to the immense risk involved. The academy will reduce this risk by providing its students with educational facilities as well on the campus itself. This may be achieved by collaborating with some of the operators in the education sector to provide the sports academy students with adequate classroom facilities on or near campus. The activities of the academy and attached educational establishment will be coordinated to allow students to manage the two adequately The academy will coordinate with the school in the following manner The student will be required to qualify the minimum criterion for classroom education The school will accommodate the requirements of the sports training schedule Personal database on the performance of each student will be maintained to monitor both academic and sports performance of the student Academics will be handled only during a stipulated time frame The classes will be scheduled according to the extra- curricular activity that the group of children has decided to pursue The focus of the academy will be to develop highly professional sports persons from among its students The result Non-users: those students who had talent but could not pursue their interest due to the inability to handle both education and sports will become users.
